Behind The Scenes – ASOSMarketplace Homepage

So we have been a little quiet on the blog lately. June was filled with Birthday celebrations and holidays – it’s now time to get back to reality.

This post is a little bit of a flash back. In April I entered my boutique in a competition held by ASOS to be the face of Marketplace and win a spot on their homepage. The homepage is a place boutiques can show what they do best – designing, selling and sourcing unique fashion – plus how and where they do it.

If you have followed my boutique for a while you will already know photography is a passion of mine. I love to do “on location” shoots for each season to showcase my key pieces. With a little help from two lovely assistants I managed to get some behind the scenes shots of myself in action with my camera.

Homepage Comp 6Homepage Comp 5

When it comes to a photoshoot I am usually a solo act, with just myself and my tripod. It can be a little time consuming, but having only myself to rely on it means if the weather is having a good day I can pull an impromptu shoot together pretty swiftly. Last year I worked with a few models who were fantastic, working with models gives me more chance to get creative behind the camera. I took a couple of shots to show these different set ups.
Homepage Comp 3Homepage Comp 2I was delighted to be chosen as one of the finalists. I have been selling on ASOSMarketplace for 3 years now, the platform has grown tremendously. It now showcases over 800 independent boutiques so to be chosen is deeply fulfilling.

I am proud to say my work is now LIVE on the homepage, click the image below to take a look at the site and the other fantastic entries. Well done to everyone that won!

Stylists Pick; Wearing The Rainbow

We have been open almost a week, thanks to everyone that has visited our new shop so far. If not get yourself over as there is still 20% OFF everything. The pace since the launch last week hasn’t lessened any here in my office, it’s been another busy been photographing new stock (and trying not to want to take it all on my holiday). There are lots of bright colours and bold prints coming your way this week.

As our #OOTD posts always go down a treat, we though you would also like this. Our ‘Stylists Pick’  It’s a new monthly post, as I am photographing new product for the site I’ll pick my ultimate fave and tell you exactly why I’m totally in love.

This month I have chosen this absolutely ‘WOW’ worthy button up jacket. Where do I start, I initially was drawn in by the print. I have been stuck wearing black for too long now, I am so ready to inject some colour back into my life – Roll on Summer. This bright abstract print reminds me a little of doughnuts or party-ring biscuits, maybe its the circular design – but hey I love sweet party snacks so it’s all good.

I love how you can style this piece, it looks great worn open over a pair of denim cut offs and a cropped tee. Worn as a kimono jacket for festival season is such a great look, and with a print like this you can really WOW the crowd. This piece can also be worn buttoned up, it makes a quirky little midi dress, I chose to belt it to shorten the length and create a bloused look. Teamed with a pair of platform sandals to give it a real retro finish.

Don’t forget there is 20% off EVERYTHING including this jacket in store right now just use code LOVEVINTAGE. (pineapple not included)

OOTD – Double The Fun In Dungarees

ootd banner blog

All in one,one for all.

Anyone else absolutely digging this trend? This week we’ve put together two completely different looks using this seasons staple favourite denim dungarees. Taking you from Parisian chic to playful and adventurous.

Before you ask, yes it is perfectly acceptable for a grown woman to wear dungarees. Alexa Chung and Fearne Cotton know exactly how to ace this tomboy trend. As much as we love the 90’s style torn and baggy dungarees, and reminiscing about the trusted pair you were forced to wear as a child, we are revisiting this trend with a modern twist.

ootd-dungaree-parisian Look #1: Think subtle florals and Parisian chic. Teaming dungarees with monochrome will make you look co-ordinated and adds a touch of sophistication to this laid back trend.  This look is perfect for those relaxing summer days or a shopping trip. Adding this cute vintage chain strap bag gives a little Chanel-esque look to the outfit. Who said overalls were just for decorating?

ootd dungarees festival Look #2:  Team your dungarees with a cropped tee and a pair of 90’s kicks. It’s  perfect for festival season. This fun, quirky and casual look, will make you want to revisit your childhood and go off exploring somewhere hopefully in the sunshine ☀️

Behind The Scenes – Cover Shoot

behind the scenes blog The last few days we have been blessed with rays of glorious sunshine. Beautiful weather like this is far too good to miss so we took things outdoors – al fresco. We put together an impromptu shoot for a new ASOSMarketplace cover photo, sometimes the last minute things turn out the best, and the most fun.

LookBook10Cover Shoot April 15This 1970’s white tiered mini dress has to be one of my favourite pieces in the shop right now. It has such a gypsy boho feel to it, making it perfect for teaming with a fringed jacket or suede waistcoat. The dress is girly and fun which is exactly what Lost In Time is all about. It was just perfect for this shoot and for festival season!

The bluebells and the blossom were out in full bloom which made the location picture perfect. Lets hope this weather is here to stay so we can adventure outdoors a little more. I am currently planning our summer look book shoot so keep your eyes peeled for lots of seasonal goodness arriving soon.
